On October 26, the large-scale International Scientific and Practical Forum “Without Statute of Limitations” ended in the Kaliningrad region.
The international scientific and practical forum “Without a statute of limitations. Nazi crimes against humanity: history and modernity” was held in Svetlogorsk, Kaliningrad region. The forum was held with the support of the Russian Ministry of Education. It was timed to coincide with the trial to recognize the crimes of the Nazis during the Great Patriotic War on the territory of the modern Kaliningrad region as crimes against humanity and genocide of the Soviet people.
During the forum, plenary sessions were held at which the modern threats of Nazism and the prospects for the development of the project “Without a Statute of Limitations”, aimed at preserving the historical truth about the Great Patriotic War, were discussed.
Director of the Eurasia.DOC festival Valery Shekhovtsov took an active part in the forum and made a presentation during which he spoke about the importance of documentary films for disseminating important historical information in a form accessible to a wide audience. He emphasized that films whose themes are related to the Great Patriotic War are constantly present in the Festival program. These are not only documentaries by Russian directors, but also films from Belarus, as well as from other countries of the post-Soviet space, near and far abroad.
The federal project “No Statute of Limitations” is aimed at preserving the memory of civilian victims during the Great Patriotic War. Within the framework of the project, search work is organized, educational events, exhibitions and scientific conferences are held, and work is underway to publish historical sources.
