The Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the Russian State Library and Channel One are implementing a joint project “RUhistory” to create videos on historical topics.
The multimedia project “RUhistory” conveys important historical information to a wide audience in an interesting and accessible form. This is a series of short animated videos that tell about prominent personalities and significant events in Russian history and culture. Most of the new project is associated with famous people and anniversaries.
Vadim Duda, General Director of the Russian State Library:
“The first flight of man into space, the establishment of book printing, Operation Bagration, the birthday of the great poet Pushkin – we must know and remember all these events, Victories, anniversaries, because it is from such dates that the history of our country is formed.”
The videos are produced by a team of professionals who have successfully implemented the project “Belarus. Story”.
Valery Shekhovtsov, general director of the studio of the Producing Center “Studio Third Rome”:
“Behind this is a large team of producers, authors, directors, designers, animators, and the main idea of our project is to promote correct and creative meanings and maintain interest in our history and culture.”
Focused primarily on young people, the RUhistory project actively uses language they understand, elements of correct youth slang, popular memes and creates new ones to make historical information more accessible and attractive to the younger generation.
Ruslan Ostashko, journalist, TV presenter of Channel One:
“In our project, we tried to talk about history specifically in a youth format in order to interest them, because for our youth, once they become interested, there are no insurmountable barriers.”
Videos of the “RUstory” project can be seen on Channel One. All episodes are presented in the official VKontakte community, which is constantly updated with new episodes.
